Victorinox Cutlery 4-1/2 Inch 6 Piece Wavy Edge with Round Tip Steak Knife Set

Victorinox Cutlery 4-1/2 Inch 6 Piece Wavy Edge with Round Tip Steak Knife Set

Victorinox Cutlery 4-1/2 Inch 6 Piece Wavy Edge with Round Tip Steak Knife Set Overview

Make sure everyone enjoys their steak with this smooth cutting set of six steak knives from RH Forschner by Victorinox, packaged in a handsome gift box that's great for storing for special occasions. The 4-1/2-inch serrated blades have a rounded tip and ergonomically designed black polypropylene handles. Made in Switzerland, the commercial quality blades are made from stamped stainless steel with a high carbon content. All blades are conically ground on the full length of the blade as well as ground crosswise, which results in a wider break point with less risk of blade fracturing and less resistance for ease of cutting. A special tempering process is used to produce an edge that can be resharpened over and over again, so the knife can keep its original sharpness throughout the entire life of the blade.

Hand washing is recommended, as the heat and the agitation of a dishwasher is not good for the edge of the blades and detergents can cause spots. The handles will also discolor with constant use of the dishwasher. The knives are backed by a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturers defects.

Victorinox Cutlery 4-1/2 Inch 6 Piece Wavy Edge with Round Tip Steak Knife Set Review

Love these knives, very handy day-to-day and good quality. They cut through meat very easily. Agree with comments that they could be more aesthetic and less 'cheap' in their handles, but honestly wouldn't be embarrassed about using them with guests. They are very sharp, yet my 5 year old can still use them safely with ease since they are light-weight, and the rounded-tip provides some reassurance that anything untoward will not happen. Value relative to price, I highly recommend.

Victorinox 48792 6 Piece Cutlery Steak Knife Set

Victorinox 48792 6 Piece Cutlery Steak Knife Set

Victorinox 48792 6 Piece Cutlery Steak Knife Set Overview

When steak is on the menu, pull out this set of six steak knives from Victorinox (model 88792), each of which features a pointed tip and serrated edge. Because the blades are stamped rather than forged the price is kept reasonable, yet the high-carbon, stainless steel is extremely durable and the ground, tempered edges maintain their razor-sharpness for a considerable length of time. The molded polypropylene handles provide a sure grip, have no grooves or rivets to harbor bacteria, and are dishwasher-safe. All in all, the knives are lightweight, very sharp, and designed to slice through meat with ease.
Started in 1884 in Switzerland, Victorinox is perhaps best known as the manufacturer of the Original Swiss Army Knife. Today Victorinox by R.H. Forschner makes everyday cutlery for the home as well as professional forged cutlery and multi-purpose tools. Hand-finished in Switzerland, the knives are covered by a lifetime warranty against defects.
  • Set of six 4-1/2-inch steak knives with wavy serrated edge and pointed tips
  • Stamped stainless steel blades created with special tempering process to help preserve sharp edge
  • Ergonomically designed, NSF-approved black polypropylene handles
  • Will stand up to years of daily use without undue deterioration or wear
  • Hand washing recommended; limited lifetime warranty

Victorinox 48792 6 Piece Cutlery Steak Knife Set Review

I decided to buy these after using one of Victorinox's other steak knives. Honestly, these are the best steak knives I've ever used. My guests were impressed when using these knives. They cut easily through meat, and can cut through soft bone. Don't let the plastic handles fool you, they're a lot sturdier than they look, and no, they don't look cheap at all. I'd recommend these to anyone looking to buy steak knives, you won't be disappointed.
